Here are the five patterns I see most often:

1. Irritability + Snapping

This isn’t you “being dramatic” — it’s physiology.

Irritability is sympathetic activation, your nervous system saying:

“I’m done. I need space. I need margin.”

When your bandwidth shrinks, patience goes first.

2. Feeling Overstimulated or “Touched Out”

Especially common for mothers.

Not a personality flaw — a sensory overload issue.

Your system is maxed, and additional input (noise, touch, requests) feels like threat.

3. Chronic Rushing

Rushing is not a time-management problem.

It’s a nervous-system pace problem.

Your body is in hypervigilance — trying to outrun the discomfort of being behind.

4. Revenge Bedtime Procrastination

Staying up later than you mean to?

You’re not “undisciplined.”

You’re reclaiming autonomy you didn’t get during the day.

Your body is trying to take back agency after overgiving.

5. Overcommitting… then regretting it

This happens when you make decisions from your ideal self… not your regulated one.

Your nervous system knows your limits.
